About TNT Turf

TNT Turf is an artificial turf company that builds golf simulator flooring as one of its commercial services. It is based in Houston, Texas, at 2302 Campbell Rd, and has been serving the Greater Houston area for more than 30 years.

Here is how they describe their simulator work, in their own words: "We build the hitting surface, the tee line and the turf you stand and walk on, seamed flush and laid to the swing envelope of your room, then we work around the screen, the enclosure and the launch monitor your hardware vendor brings." In plain terms, the screen, projector, enclosure and launch monitor come from a separate hardware vendor. TNT Turf's part is the floor underneath and around all of it.

A few things they explain matter to anyone building a bay. They check the concrete slab for flatness, cracks and moisture first, because a damp or uneven slab telegraphs through every layer laid on top of it. A shock pad or underlayment goes under the hitting zone to absorb impact so a fat shot does not jar the player's wrists. Bay turf is usually laid dark on purpose, since a bright color bounces projector light back at the screen and can throw off a camera-based launch monitor reading the ball. They also note that hitting turf is built dense and short for repeated club impact, which is the wrong surface for a true putt, so a separate putting strip gets zoned in beside it when a room calls for one. For ceiling height, they suggest starting around 10 feet of clear space as a design check, then adjusting for the tallest player and for any duct, beam, or sprinkler head in the room.

No price is published for simulator flooring, and no warranty length is stated, though they say every install is backed by a warranty in writing.

This is a good fit for a golf retail, entertainment, club, gym or office project that already has its simulator hardware sourced and needs the bay floor built and seamed around it, rather than a homeowner looking for someone to supply the whole simulator system.
