About RG Golf Design
RG Golf Design is a golf simulator design and installation company based in Raleigh, North Carolina. It builds simulator rooms in basements, garages, spare rooms and commercial flex spaces, and it installs anywhere in the United States. It has built rooms in North Carolina, California, Nevada and Tennessee.
Here is how they describe their work, in their own words: "We design and build the entire system, so you don't have to lift a finger. This includes the enclosure, the impact screen, the high-speed launch monitor, and top tier electronics suite."
The parts it draws from include an acoustic impact screen, a carpet finish or curtain solution to protect the ceiling and walls, a gaming PC, a touchscreen monitor, a 4k projector rated at 6000 lumens, putting turf, a hitting mat, hidden cabling, a PC cabinet and on-site training. The acoustic screen matters because a struck ball is loud, and a screen that absorbs the sound keeps the noise from carrying through the house. Hidden cabling and a PC cabinet keep the room looking like part of the house. Every install is à la carte, so the list is sized to the room and the budget.
Launch monitors come from Foresight, TrackMan and Uneekor, paired with software such as GS Pro, Trackman Virtual Golf and FSX Play. Recent builds include a full enclosure in a loft above a garage, a ground up build in an accessory dwelling unit, a curtain enclosure in an existing den, and a Flex-Cage setup for a garage that also has to serve another purpose.
On cost, they say: "Simpler hitting bays can start under $25,000, most complete simulator rooms fall between $25,000 and $75,000, and fully custom builds run higher." Most installations are completed in a matter of days once materials arrive on site, and larger builds take longer. A project starts with a free assessment, in person or virtual, then moves to design, installation and on-site training, with one point of contact throughout. Phone lines are open Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00. No street address, warranty or licence statement is published.
This is a good fit if you want a golf specialist to handle the whole room, from the enclosure and screen to the electronics and training, and you want a price range before the first visit.
