About Stonewood
Stonewood is a custom home builder based in Wayzata, Minnesota, and has been building homes there since 1947, now in its fourth generation. Golf simulator rooms are something they design as part of a fully custom home, not a standalone trade.
Here is how they describe this work, in their own words: "At Stonewood, we thoughtfully craft these simulator spaces for both form and function." In practice this means working a simulator into a lower level, a dedicated media room, or a multi-use lounge or bar area, built into the home's design from the start rather than added on afterward.
Their process starts with architect selection, where Stonewood helps interview local architects and sits in on design meetings, then moves through design development, interior selections, a detailed budget review, and construction management with performance testing and multiple walkthroughs before occupancy. After the home is finished, they say they provide "extensive warranty coverage" and return after the first year for a full inspection as the house settles in. That combination, a named process with a post-occupancy check, means a simulator room gets the same oversight as the rest of the build rather than being handled as a separate subcontracted job.
No price specific to a simulator room is published, and no launch monitor or projector brands are named, since that equipment typically runs through the architect and subcontractors brought onto the project. They serve the Lake Minnetonka area and greater Twin Cities, including Edina, Orono, Minnetonka and Eden Prairie, with remote-build programs in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Montana and Wyoming.
This is a good fit if you are planning or renovating a full custom home and want the simulator room designed in from the start, rather than someone to retrofit a simulator into an existing space on its own.
