What Should a Golf Simulator Quote Include?

What line items should a complete quote carry?

A complete quote puts a number next to nine things: the launch monitor, the projector and computer, the screen and enclosure, the flooring, installation labor, delivery, room preparation, calibration and training, and the software terms that keep running after install day. Every one of the nine appears in writing on some vendor's own page.

Why does 'starting at' matter so much?

A starting price is a floor, and the vendors' own wording says so. Paradise Greens publishes turnkey packages from $12,995 and advertises professional installation by its own team; confirm on the quote that installation is inside the starting price. Murphy Golf Simulators prints four package prices, $18,700, $22,500, $22,650, and $27,000, and every one carries "+delivery and installation" after the number.

Most of the 92 builder sites checked in August 2026 publish no prices at all. Where a number does appear before anyone visits your home, it tends to be a band: GOLF365's Naples FAQ puts luxury home installations at $20,000 to $85,000 and up depending on equipment and finishes. The equipment lines have printed shapes too. Murphy Golf Simulators lists its package contents in full: cabinet, launch monitor, gaming PC, projector, monitor with cart, and hitting strip. That is six pieces of hardware behind one package price, and a complete quote names each one.

What does the delivery line cover?

Two vendors put their delivery terms in writing, and they cover different halves of the problem. Murphy Golf Simulators bases delivery and installation charges on distances traveled, with a package builder to estimate both for your location and a formal quote by email. InHome Golf's terms describe the logistics from the receiving end: "Simulator shipping costs are based on the customer receiving multiple shipments of assorted components," and the buyer is responsible for "accepting shipments and storing in a dry protected environment until installation."

A complete delivery line does two things. It states the charge as a number for your address, and it says who receives, inspects, and stores the boxes if equipment lands before the crew does. Settle both before anything ships.

How do deposits and payment schedules work?

TruGolf and InHome Golf both post payment terms, and both ask for half up front. They differ on when the rest is due. TruGolf's terms call for a "50% deposit to initiate order with the remaining balance due prior to shipment." InHome Golf's terms of service ask for a "50% deposit payment to begin the order process" with the remaining balance due before installation. TruGolf also allows full payment up front as an alternative, and notes that sales tax applies to orders unless a signed resale certificate is on file.

That timing difference matters: balance before shipment means you've paid in full while the equipment is still on a truck, while balance before installation holds the second half until delivery has happened and the crew is scheduled. Both structures are in print and neither is unusual for custom work, but you should know which one your contract uses before you sign.

TruGolf's terms also show what happens when the room isn't ready: the customer "may be charged for additional trips and/or a daily rate up to $750 for each day that installation is delayed," and a 20% restocking fee applies once product has left the facility. A room that isn't ready on the scheduled day has a price attached to it in the contract.

Comparing two quotes that don't itemize the same way

1. Rebuild both quotes on the same nine lines Use the line items in the table above and mark each one included, excluded, or not mentioned, for each quote. A quote that is silent on delivery hasn't priced it. Murphy Golf Simulators, for one, prices delivery and installation by distance traveled, so silence is a question to ask.
2. Turn every 'starting at' and 'plus' into a dollar figure Ask what your address does to distance-based charges and what your room does to a starting price. Paradise Greens' $12,995 is "starting at," and Murphy Golf Simulators' package prices carry "+delivery and installation," so neither is a final number until the vendor makes it one for your job.
3. Price year two as well as year one Murphy Golf Simulators' packages include one year of GSPro with a stated renewal fee after that. InHome Golf's terms show another year-two cost: after an initial 60-day period, onsite repair or replacement work carries a repair and installation charge, including travel. Ask each vendor which subscriptions, licenses, and service charges continue past the first year, and put those on the comparison too.
4. Match the payment schedule to milestones Get the deposit percentage, the trigger for the balance, and any delay or restocking charges in writing. The examples in print run 50% down, with the balance due before shipment (TruGolf) or before installation (InHome Golf).
5. Give every exclusion an owner InHome Golf's terms exclude plywood subfloor, cable runs, and screen frame blocking from installation. Work like that still has to happen. For each excluded item on either quote, the comparison needs a name and a number: who does it, and what it costs.

What if you are doing the work yourself?

A quote is still worth getting if you plan to build it yourself, because the exclusion lines are your shopping list. InHome Golf's terms name three items that ride outside its installation: "plywood subfloor, running cables and screen frame blocking are not included." Those are ordinary carpentry and cable work, and they are where a DIY build starts. Assembling a frame-and-screen enclosure, cutting and laying turf, and setting up the PC and the software belong on the same list.

Four things are where doing it yourself stops paying. Opening a finished ceiling to hang a projector or a mount means locating joists, patching, and carrying hardware overhead that has to stay in alignment. Adding a circuit is licensed electrical work in most places, and it usually needs a permit. Tensioning an impact screen has a price on it: Indoor Golf Outlet charges $7,000 for a standard install and $10,000 for a tier that includes a tensioned screen and padded wall and ceiling panels. And projector alignment matters more than it sounds, because a projector mounted in the wrong spot throws the golfer's own shadow onto the screen at address, and the fix is moving the mount.

Price the DIY route against the quote line by line. Murphy Golf Simulators prints "+delivery and installation" after every package price, and My Golf Cave's $1,499 enclosure package includes custom home installation, so both of them tell you what the labor on that piece is worth to a vendor.
